RE: Letter from Ecumenical Patriarchate dated September 6, 1999
Dear Your Eminence
We immediately began to communicate with the Ecumenical Officer, His Grace Bishop Demetrios of Xanthos, on your advisement and suggestion in your letter of September 6, 1999. Our communications consisted of many phone calls and written correspondence to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese directly and with His Grace Demetrios. We have been ignored and stonewalled to any reasonable resolution for ecumenical union
We have waited patiently for an answer, or any valid plan to normalize and remove any doubt or confusion as to our legitimate ecclesiastic claim of our canonical status. We have commemorated His Holiness Bartholomew in our Divine Liturgy service since 1921. We believe we are in communion with the Holy Mother Church. Yet, there is no response other than the quote: "What exactly do you want?" Still no effort or progress to date. Why? Our jurisdiction was a founding member since 1960 in S.C.O.B.A. with our Metropolitan Palladios.
Enclosures will support our current positions in the Holy Church. I personally have met the Holy Canons concerning a married Episcopate on the canon of estranged (different residence) yet no divorce, relationship. The Internet documentation, www.stmichaelacademy.org, may completely inform the Patriarchate of our S.C.O.B.A. history as a jurisdiction in full communion with God's Holy Mother Church. If this letter brings no position response, we will still continue to work as servants in out Lord's vineyard, bearing fruit for His glory.
Yours in Christ's Service
+Archbishop Haralambos
